Photo Editing

In the first project we had to pick five photos and create a single photomontage inspired by the tools that we used in class. The software used was Photoshop. In the project I used layers, masking, free transform etc. We really had to think outside of the box for this project and make it are own. We used the photos that we took on are Photowalk. It was intersting getting to explore the tools that we learned and how they can help us create are designs we want.

Photo Editing

In the Photo Gallery project we first had to be in a group of 3 or 4. The software used was photoshop. Once we were in are group we shared five photos between the group. Then we picked five for ourselves and edit them. When editing them we use all of the tools that we have learnt over the course of the semester. For my editing I used cloning, masks, layers, hue/saturation etc. Throughout the project I learned the decision making of which proper tools I can use for my design.

Pixel Art

Communication and Information Technologies

The Pixel Art was made in excel and it was a very fun to make. We had to pick a couple of photos that we can recreate in excel. For example using cartoon characters. I chose to recreate homer, a emoji, mickey mouse and spongebob. Then using the squares on the excel sheet we would fill in the the specify colors. Also thinking about how big we want the pixel art is and getting the exact colors. Throughout the assisgnment I learned a lot about excel.

Design History Project

Introduction to Graphic and Web Design

The art movement design project focus on creating an item that will be sold at a certain department store. I chose to create a plate for the Hudson Bay Company. The software used was Illustrator for this project. The art movement that I chose for the plate was optical illusion. Seeing a lot of examples of optical illusion and learning about the history of the movement was very intersting. I learned how it is important to plan out your ideas and really think if your product would work to whoever you are selling it to.

The Project 4 was the analog to Digital Illustration. We had to create a sketch and scanned it. Then recreate the sketch on illustrator. The tool we mainly used for this project was the pen tool and techniques to make a digital vector version of are sketch. It was so amazing to see are sketch really come to life when it was created as a digital illustration. I learned a lot about the pen tool while doing this assignment.

Project 5:Typographic Poster

Graphic Design: Illustration 1

The Project 5 was the Typographic Poster. The software used was Illustrator. We had to create a poster with a message of a quote or a song lyric. I decide to pick a lyric from one of Taylor Swift’s song. I felt that the quote had a nice important message. I wanted my poster not to be very busy but simple and clean. I chose a font that ties in really well with the lyric. Also added the flowers for a border. I learned that having good color that blends well together really makes the work come together.

Mandala

Graphic Design: Illustration 1

The Mandala was another fun one to create. The software used was Illustrator. In this assignment we used tools such as the shape tools, pathfinder, shape builder, rotate tool, live paint bucket and much more tools. Using those tools we had to figure what kind of design we want for the Mandela and which colors will fit the best in the Mandala. I have learned how to set up and brainstorm before you starting your work. To really think it through and have everthing already layed out and ready to go.
